When trying to help others, the tendency is to get pulled into their world, in fact to some extent it is inevitable. So it is essential to stay rooted, to remember where I come from. As my wife and I have lived the turmoil moving from Spain to the United States, it has been helpful to remember that wherever we are, we are in Father’s house. In many of the psalms (e.g. Ps 27, 84, 90, 91) David says that even in the wilderness, escaping enemies, he feels that he can take refuge in God’s house.
For example: “One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.” (Ps 27:4). This is obviously something to look forward to in eternity, but it seems David believes that he can dwell in the Lord’s house now and that it will continue forever.
We moved out of our home of 7 years in Spain several weeks ago. Since then we have 
lived with friends in Spain, other friends here in Wisconsin, and we’ve made an offer on a house. Each of these four houses are Father’s house, because I give them to Him and I know our friends do as well. Each house is a refuge, a place of peace, because it belongs to Father and He is there. This also applies to hiking in the woods, walking in the streets of a city or driving in my car. God is there. He is here!
I live in peace even when turmoil is around me, and I have the privilege of transmitting peace to others through Jesus, the Life Channel.
La Casa de Mi Padre
Intentando ayudar a otros, la tendencia es entrar en su mundo, de hecho hasta cierto punto es inevitable. Entonces es esencial que me mantengo arraigado, para recordar de dónde vengo. Como mi esposa y yo hemos vivido el agite de mudarse de España a los Estados Unidos, nos ha servido recordar que dondequiera que estemos, estamos en la casa del Padre. En muchos de los Salmos (por ejemplo, Ps 27, 84, 90, 91), David dice que incluso en el desierto, escapando de enemigos, que puede refugiarse en la casa de Dios.
Hace 3 semanas nos mudamos de nuestra casa de 7 años en España. Desde entonces hemos vivido con unos amigos en España, después con otros amigos aquí en Wisconsin, y ya vamos a comprar una casa. Cada una de estas cuatro casas son la casa del Padre, porque las doy a él y sé que nuestros amigos hacen lo mismo. Cada casa es un refugio, un lugar de paz, porque pertenece al Padre y Él está allí. También haciendo senderismo en el bosque, caminando por las calles de una ciudad o conduciendo en mi auto. Dios está allí. ¡Dios está aquí, y es mi refugio!
Vivo en paz, hasta cuando todo sea confusión a mi alrededor. Y tengo el privilegio de transmitir paz a los demás por Jesús, el Corriente de Vida, el Life Channel.
